Workshop Participants
A diverse group of about 50 individuals (the ‘Participants Group’) drawn from government, civil society and business representing a mix of competencies, national origins, gender, ages and cultures, are involved in building the scenarios. The great majority of participants are Africans, working in Africa, and with a demonstrated commitment to African issues.
Although invited as individuals rather than representatives, workshop participants are expected to draw on their networks and organizations to provide input to the scenario-building process and be able to articulate the voice of the disempowered. Travel scholarships have been made available for participants needing financial assistance. A selection committee was established on behalf of the Steering Committee to assist in selecting workshop participants against a set of criteria designed to ensure both the calibre of individuals selected and that a good balance between different interests is represented.
These are the people who attended the workshops, explaining their motivations and what they hope to achieve by participating in the project.
